Association for Doctoral Education in Clinical Neuropsychology

Originally founded in 1996, ADECN was developed alongside the Association for Internship Training in Clinical Neuropsychology (AITCN) and the Association of Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology (APPCN) to provide representation for training at the graduate level. ADECN’s mission is to promote the highest quality graduate training in clinical neuropsychology.

ADECN endeavors are grounded on the 1987 joint report from the International Neuropsychological Society (INS) and APA Division 40 and the 1998 Houston Guidelines. ADECN offers unique and specific resources to its members programs and trainees and serves as a source of information and dialogue to support the development of professional, competent and ethical neuropsychology graduate training. ADCEN endeavors to:
  1. To advocate for and promote the concerns of doctoral education and training in clinical neuropsychology
  2. To promote appropriate standards for education, training, and research in clinical neuropsychology at the doctoral level
  3. To inform clinical neuropsychologists, individuals in related disciplines, and the general public about doctoral education, training, and related activities in clinical neuropsychology
